Lanie Harrison Keller, Jr.

Lanie Harrison Keller, Jr., 78, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away June 2, 2017 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg.  He was born June 24, 1938 in Anselmo, Nebraska; Lanie was the son of Lanie H. and Thelma (Mott) Keller, Sr.

Lanie moved to the Silver Valley in 1954 from California.  He had attended schools in Mullan, Idaho.  Lanie continued to live in the Silver Valley at various times during his life.  He served in the U.S. Marines.

Lanie first married Erma Ann Taylor on January 28, 1962 in Wallace, Idaho; they later divorced.  He then married Charlene L. Siers on September 1, 1985 in Lake Tahoe, California.

Lanie had served as a miner at various mines including the Lucky Friday Mine of Mullan.  He had also owned and operated Lanie’s Flooring, laying carpet and flooring for many years.  He had also served as a truck driver in long haul trucking and in the logging business.

Lanie was a member of the Wallace Elks Lodge #331.  He loved and enjoyed his family, motorcycle riding and horseback riding.  Lanie was a great and avid water and snow skier and had taught family members these sports he so enjoyed.

Lanie is survived by his beloved wife Charlene Keller of the family home of Wallace; nine children Debra Taylor and Steve Melton of Wallace, Don and Julie Taylor of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Michael Taylor of San Jose, California, Lanie C. and Glenda Keller of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lynette Keller- Hauser of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tammy Keller- Schonhans of Osburn, Idaho, Mark and Brianna Cole of Pinehurst, Idaho, Michelle and James Hamilton of Hidden Valley Lake, California and Chris and Christy Cole of Kellogg, Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers Tony Keller of Flagstaff, Arizona and Don Keller of Franklin, Tennessee; one sister Alice Holmes of Kalispell, Montana; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Lanie was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Tina Keller- Babor, one brother Henry Keller and one sister Lois.

A Celebration of Lanie’s Life will be held and announced at a later date.

The family suggests that donations may be sent to his beloved wife Charlene Keller, 660 Burke Road, Wallace, Idaho 83873, to help with expenses.
