Alwen Cedris Kilimann, 92, of Kellogg, Idaho passed away January 2, 2012 at the Mountain Valley Care & Rehabilitation Center of Kellogg. She was born January 21, 1919 at the family home on Riverside Avenue of Kellogg; Alwen was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Jones) Edwards.
Alwen has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life. She attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1936. Alwen then attended the Kinman Business College of Spokane, Washington.
Alwen married Carl “Chuck” Kilimann on April 29, 1939 at the family home of Kellogg; Chuck preceded her in death in 1980.
Alwen first worked at the Corner Drug of Kellogg, Idaho; she then worked at Anthony Jewelers and Dan’s Rexall Drug of Kellogg. Alwen purchased and served as owner and operator of the Mode O’ Day Clothing store of Kellogg for ten years. Then lastly, she served as the Personnel Director/Manager for the West Shoshone Hospital of Kellogg.
Alwen was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the Kellogg Lady Elks and the Evergreen Chorus; she had also served on the West Shoshone Hospital Board of Kellogg.
Alwen loved and enjoyed music and singing, rose gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, fishing, cooking- especially making pasties and pies.
Alwen is survived by two sons Keith and his wife Mary Kilimann of Bellevue, Washington and Johnny Kilimann of Kellogg, Idaho; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chuck, and two brothers Dick and Campy Edwards.
Cremation was held and Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain View Congregational Church (formerly the United Church Of Kellogg) of Kellogg, Idaho with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. A reception/luncheon will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall following services.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Resident Trust Fund, c/o Mountain Valley Care & Rehabilitation Center, 601 W. Cameron Ave., Kellogg, Idaho 83837.

Alwen Kilimann was a wonderful wife and mother and always had a smile for her friends and customers. She will be missed by the many who knew her.
