Edwin “Ed” Arthur Dingman, 81, of Kellogg, Idaho passed away September 27, 2011 at his home of Kellogg. He was born November 11, 1929 at Trommald, Minnesota; Ed was the son of Carrol Arthur and Emma May (Ellis) Dingman.
Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved to the Silver Valley in 1955 from Minnesota.
Ed served as a first class mechanic at the Sunshine Mine for many years before his retirement.
Ed was a member of the American Legion Post #36. He loved and enjoyed his family, fishing, huckleberry picking and cooking.
Ed is survived by four children Anita Flachmeyer of Post Falls, Idaho, Linda Dingman-Jennings of Parsons, Kansas, Michael “Mike” Dingman of Hayden Lake, Idaho and Steven Dingman of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; he is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; five sisters Darlene Burgstaler of Aitkin, Minnesota, LaVonne Fox of Aitkin, Minnesota, Shirley Hand of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Valerie Race of Chisholm, Minnesota and Delores Ellis of Seattle, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Jason Jennings, four brothers and two sisters.
Cremation was held and upon his request, no memorial services will be held.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
