Quentin “Doc” Albert Weichel, 91, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away October 12, 2011 at the Deaconess Medical Center of Spokane, Washington. He was born February 2, 1920.
Doc married Elizabeth “Betty” Urso; she preceded him in death.
Doc was a miner and had mined at various mines in the Silver Valley including the Galena Mine.
Doc had a passion for fishing. As a young man he worked in Alaska on a cod fishing boat. There he earned a reputation as one of the best at filleting fish. After moving to Idaho his passion for fishing continued, as he spent many days fishing in nearly every river and lake that the Pacific Northwest had to offer. Quentin also spent many hours in the woods hiking, camping and hunting.
Doc is survived by one daughter Louise and her husband Gene Hamblin of Vancouver, Washington; two sons Quentin Lee Weichel and Marvin Weichel; two Grandsons Jeremiah Peil and Aaron Peil both of Gresham, Oregon; he is also survived by one sister Dorothy Lee Hilliard and one cousin Glenn Weichel.
Cremation was held and inurnment graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Osburn Cemetery of Osburn, Idaho.
