Robert “Bob” Lee Abbott, 77, passed away January 3, 2012 at the Beehive Homes in Pinehurst, Idaho. Bob was born June 11, 1934 in Dillon, Montana. He was the son of Ben and Mildred Abbott.
As a child Bob moved from Missoula, Montana to Spokane, Washington where he attended and graduated from high school. After high school Bob joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge Bob moved to Idaho settling in the Silver Valley in 1960.
Bob married Ellen Howe April 1st, 1970. She later preceded him in death in 1982.
Bob worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Company, and as a journeyman pressman, before purchasing the Silver Dollar Bar. Bob also owned the Teeoff Tavern before opening his own bar with his wife “Bob’s Tavern.” He has also worked as a handyman for the Enaville Resort.
Bob loved spending time with his many friends. He also enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks play, and watching The Price Is Right.
Bob is survived by his dear friends Dawn Reese of Pinehurst, Idaho; Bob and his wife Joanne Monteith of Cataldo, Idaho; Joe and Rose Mary Peak of Kingston, Idaho; Judy Sullivan of Kansas City, Missouri, Burt and Peggy Brothers of Post Falls, Idaho; and one sister Nessa Jones of Montana. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho at 9493 N. Government Way Hayden, ID 83835.
Cremation was held and a celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
Shoshone Funeral Service and Crematory is entrusted with making arrangements.
