Barbara ‘Bobbie” Lee Martin, 68, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away September 16, 2014 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was born August 22, 1946 in Wallace, Idaho; Bobbie was the daughter of Charles and Martha “Howardine” (Tattrie) Smelcer.

Bobbie attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1964. She has resided in the Wallace, Osburn and Tacoma, Washington areas.

Bobbie had owned and operated a custodial/janitorial business in Tacoma, Washington from 1976-2001. After moving back to the Silver Valley, Bobbie served in Home Health Care for eleven years.

Bobbie was a member of the Osburn V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the Real Life Ministries of Pinehurst.

Bobbie loved and enjoyed her family, camping, her beloved dogs, flower gardening, photography, baking and cooking.

Bobbie is survived by one son Chuck Powell of Osburn, Idaho; two sisters Carmen Leewood of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlene Patterson of Priest River, Idaho; four nephews Dan Miller of Juneau, Alaska, Randy Galipeau of Newport, Washington, Todd Miller of Spokane Valley, Washington and James Collins of Bellevue, Washington; two Uncles Charlie and Clarence Smelcer both of Alaska; her Aunt Joyce of San Antonio, Texas; her very dear friend and companion Gary Dodge & his family of Osburn, Idaho; she is also survived by her large extended family residing throughout the United States and Canada. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James Smelcer.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Staff of Kootenai Health for their wonderful care of Bobbie and the love and kindness that was shown to her family.

A Celebration of Bobbie’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the Real Life Ministries of Pinehurst with Pastor Gene Jacobs officiating. A reception/luncheon will be held at the Church following services.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Real Life Ministries, 10 South Division Street, Pinehurst, Idaho 83850 or to the Shoshone Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
