Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Betty Jane Baraby, 88, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away November 27, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton, Idaho. She was born September 8, 1926 in Britton, South Dakota; Betty was the daughter of Harold and Helen (Bennett) Hilton.
Betty attended and graduated from the Superior High School of Superior, Montana in 1945. She then attended Business College in Helena, Montana.
Betty married Albert Giles Baraby in June of 1946 in Helena, Montana. Betty moved to the Silver Valley in 1952 from Superior, Montana. Albert and Betty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, before Albert passed away in 1987.
Betty had served as a legal secretary for various attorneys in Helena, Montana. After moving to the Silver Valley, she worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and office manager for the Baraby’s Wrecking Company of Wallace.
Betty loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she enjoyed stripping copper from the wrecking yard to help with family expenses, she loved dogs and cats, crossword and jig saw puzzles, gardening, the color purple, and A&W root beer-she had resided by the A&W Root Beer restaurant in Wallace.
Betty is survived by her daughter Naomi (Rick) Barth of Wallace, Idaho; two sons Charles Baraby of Boise, Idaho and Bruce (Debra) Baraby of Wallace, Idaho; two granddaughters Patricia (Pat) Herndon of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Janet Hampton of Osburn; five great-grandchildren; one brother Mark Hilton of Superior, Montana; her brother-in-law Charles Baraby of Helena, Montana. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Baraby and one son Harold Baraby.
Cremation will be held and private family graveside services will be held at the Superior Cemetery of Superior, Montana.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Silver Wood Good Samaritan staff, for their love and special care that was shown and given to Betty.
