Betty Gloetta Sturtevant, 88, passed away on June 12, 2026 in Spokane, Washington. Betty was born on March 24,1938 in Portland Oregon. She lived in Hermiston Oregon and Yakima Washington before moving to Spokane in 2017.
Betty was the mother of 6 children and worked several jobs at one time to support her family. Her primary career was working in the food processing warehouses at Lamb Weston and Del Monte as a line supervisor before retiring in early 2000.She also worked in the restaurant industry at The Crossroads, Nola’s Branding Iron, The Gear Jammer, Denny’s and Sambos. Betty always said Denny’s had the best cup of coffee and enjoyed sharing a cup while sitting around a table with family and friends reminiscing about life.
Betty’s nickname was “Betty Boop” and she was a huge fan. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, listening to music, collecting the movies that won the Academy Awards for Best Picture and playing games. Betty especially liked playing bingo and pull tabs any chance she got and was usually lucky and won a lot. Luck was always on her side as she was once dealt a perfect 29 hand in cribbage.
Betty is survived by her daughter Kelly Lynn, son Robert (Kelly), son Royal (Linda), grandsons Roy, James and Kyle, granddaughters Shi, Jezreel, Sheena, Sierra, Alexis, Whitney, and Hannah. Betty had 8 great grandchildren that she dearly adored.
She was preceded in death by her son Anthony, daughters Eva and Leona, and grandson Joel.
A celebration of life will be held at the Kellogg Baptist Church in Kellogg, Idaho on July 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow. Betty will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, Idaho.
