Carl Ronald Wilbur, 86, lifelong Silver Valley resident, passed away on September 29, 2023 at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, ID. Carl was born on December 3, 1936 at the old Wardner Hospital in Wardner, ID, a son of the late Clarence and Della (Anderson) Wilbur.

Carl enlisted in the US Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He married Patricia Ann Johnston in 1959 at the Hitching Post in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Patricia passed away in January 2011. Carl worked for the US Forest Service where he was an equipment operator before becoming a sales administrator and retired from there after 30 years of service. He later worked for the Sunshine Mine as an equipment operator.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, dancing, and spending time with his family.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Della; his dear wife, Patricia Ann; a brother, Kenny Wilbur; and a sister, Donna Longfellow.

Survivors include three children, Jerry (Cindy) Wilbur of Pinehurst, ID, Leah (Cory) White of Cataldo, ID, and Dave (Sharon) Wilbur of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren. Dusty, Becky, Kyle, and Lowden, and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bob, Russ, Jim, and Frank Wilbur; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

At Carl’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memories of Carl and messages of condolence may be shared with his family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting the Wilbur family with arrangements.
