Cordes Carlson

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Cordes Gene Carlson, 72, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away September 8, 2013 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg, Idaho. He was born December 20, 1940 at Warren, Minnesota; Cordes was the son of Rudolph E. and Anne Henrika (Cordes) Carlson.

Cordes moved to the Silver Valley with his family in 1944 from Minnesota. He attended and graduated from the Wallace High School of Wallace in 1959.

Cordes married Bernadine Bury on June 3, 1967 at the American Lutheran Church of Kellogg.

Cordes served as a dental prosthetics lab technician for forty-five years; he had served and contracted with many Silver Valley dentists.

Cordes was a member, secretary and treasurer for the Mountaineer Motorcycle Club for twenty-five plus years; he was also a member of the Wallace Elks Lodge #331 and a charter member of the Wishful Fisherman’s Club.

Cordes loved and enjoyed motorcycle trail riding, racing and boating with his family. He also loved his pets!!!!!!!!!

Cordes is survived by his beloved wife Bernadine Carlson of the family home of Osburn; three children Kelle Rae Poole of Post Falls, Idaho; Cory (Shellie) Weikel of Osburn and Rhona Dean Reader of Post Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren Brittany, Michael, Ryan, Andrea and Robyn; two great-grandchildren Lexie Ann, Braxton Allen and one on the way; four brothers Ronnie (Bonnie) Carlson of Spokane Valley, Washington, Darrell (Joanne) Carlson of Post Falls, Idaho, Rudy Carlson of Osburn and Roger (Donna) Trumbull of Osburn; his nieces and nephews Misty, Russ, Lori, Bruce, Tricia and Jenniffer; Cordes is also survived by “Bud the Bird”. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step-father James Trumbull.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the Bernadine and Cordes Carlson family home of Osburn, Idaho; everyone is welcome.
