Crystal Rae Sevy, 68, of Pinehurst, ID, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 16th 2025 at the home of her daughter in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Crystal was born on June 24, 1957 in Wallace, ID, a daughter of the late Wylie and Olive (Johansen) Hathaway.
As a lifelong Silver Valley resident, Crystal graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1975. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Danny Sevy. On October 15th, 1977, the two were married and raised four beautiful children. Danny passed away on October 30, 2019.
Crystal worked at SVL Analytical for many years as a sample receiving technician. She loved the people that she worked for and the coworkers she worked with. However, spending time with her family was paramount in her life. She enjoyed being involved in everything her children and subsequently her grandchildren were doing. To her, grandchildren just made the world more grand!
She had many hobbies and interests including camping, sewing, and attending the kids sporting, dance recital, and band concert events. She then loved being able to scrapbook the many memories she was making with her family. Crystal was a proud and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pinehurst. She willingly served the ward any role she was called to. For many, many years she was a Cub Scout leader and loved working with the kids.
In addition to her parents, and beloved husband, Danny, Crystal is preceded in death by 3 of her siblings Ronnie, Jewel, and Sharon.
Survivors include her four children, Christopher (Amy) Sevy, Stacey (Derrick) Sharp, Dannielle (Tony) Wright, and Shea (Katy) Sevy; eight grandchildren, Tatum, Caddis, Andrew, Molly, Bryce, Emily, Annie, and London; four siblings, Kevin (Cindy) Hathaway, AdriAnne Bowcutt, Sandra (Owen) St. Germain, and Allison (Robert) Cox; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Sevy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may gather on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the chapel of Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, for visitation. A memorial service will follow on Friday, October 24, 2025, 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pinehurst, ID. Private family graveside services will occur at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg.
