Beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, David Rand Phillips, 64, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away November 23, 2014 at his home of Kellogg. He was born February 4, 1950 in Ewen, Michigan; David was the son of Glen and Dorothy (McClintock) Phillips.
David’s family moved to Kellogg in 1962. David attended and graduated from Kellogg High School. While in school David enjoyed playing basketball for the YMCA and Kellogg Schools.
David served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was severely injured requiring many surgeries. David retired from the military with honors.
David enjoyed watching NASCAR, college basketball games and going fishing.
David is survived by his two sons David (Crystal) Phillips of Post Falls, Idaho and Jeremy Phillips of Oregon; five grandchildren; his brother Glenn Phillips of Auburn, Washington; sisters Christine Dezell of Spokane Valley, Washington and Cyndie Bronowski of Coeur d Alene, Idaho. David is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Dennis and Bob Phillips.
Cremation will take place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
