Deborah “Debbie” Sue Short, 64

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Deborah “Debbie” Sue Short, 64, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away July 26, 2018 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.  She was born June 4, 1954 in Bluefield, West Virginia; Debbie was the daughter of Franklin and Gertrude (Thomas) Short.

Debbie attended and graduated from the Flushing High School of Flushing, Michigan.

Debbie moved to the Silver Valley in 1988 from Seattle, Washington.  After moving to the Silver Valley, she worked for the Good Samaritan Silver Wood Village of Silverton as a Certified Nurses Aide; Debbie then worked for Addus in 2000 and in 2004, she owned and operated a Certified Family Home.  And lastly, Debbie worked for Access Care At Home from 2013 until her passing.

Debbie was very involved in the Silver Valley Special Olympics.  She so loved spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dog Toby.  Debbie also enjoyed taking long walks in the mountains and traveling to the lakes in upper Burke, bicycling and country rides.

Debbie is survived by three children Jim Cason and Heidi Peterson of Wallace, Idaho; Tammy and Robert Davis of Osburn, Idaho and April Cason of Wallace; seven grandchildren Andrew, Anthony, Brian, Kimberly, and Damien Davis; Paxton Peterson and Halle Lusk; one sister Brenda Schichitel of Davison, Michigan; two nieces Jamie Gooding and Nichole Woods.  Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother Franklin Short.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Silver Valley Special Olympics, c/o Idaho Special Olympics, 199 E. 52nd, Garden City, Idaho 83714.
