Dennis Sager

Dennis Alvin Sager, 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather of DeSmet, ID and formerly of Cataldo, ID, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Dennis was born on August 12, 1929 in Gordon, Nebraska, a son of the late Freeman Sager and Jessie Harris Sager.

On December 29, 1950, Dennis married Rosaline “Rose” Bos in Deadwood, SD. Later in 1963, Dennis and Rose moved to the Silver Valley from Mabton, WA. Dennis worked as a diamond core driller for the Sunshine Mine and various other mines for 23 years. He retired in 1986.

Dennis enjoyed fishing, working on the milling machine in his shop, and farming.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his wife, Rose, who passed away on April 13, 2013. Three brothers, Howard, Gene, and Melvin. Also, by his daughter, Peggy (James) Stone of Hayden, ID, and granddaughter, Ashley (daughter to Dennis Hank) Sager.

He is survived by 5 children, Karen (Duane) Marquardt of DeSmet, ID, Dennis H. (Sherry) Sager of Walla Walla, WA, Terry Erickson of Spokane, WA, Lesley Sager of Battle Mountain, NV, and Rick (Maria) Sager of Ione, WA. Dennis is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
