Dixie Lee Dellinger, 80, of Prichard, ID, life-long Silver Valley resident, beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away on November 16, 2023 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Dixie was born on March 5, 1943 in Wallace, ID, a daughter of the late Carl Hansen and Artie Coronette Hansen.
Dixie graduated from Wallace High School, Class of 1962. She married Brower “Butch” Dellinger on September 10, 1983 on Botch Mountain in Silverton, ID. Butch later passed away on April 18, 2017. She had worked for many years as a recovery room nurse assistant and was also a stay at home mom raising her family.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Knitting and Sewing Club. Dixie enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her husband, Butch Dellinger and her parents, Carl and Artie Hansen, Dixie is preceded in death by Jake Dellinger, and Tom and Bette Smart.
Survivors include her four children, Todd (Shannon) Dellinger of Silverton, ID, Stephen “Randy” (Kathy) Dellinger of Silverton, ID, Terry Dellinger of Prichard, ID, and Matthew of Athol, ID; and eight grandchildren, Michael (Carrie), Stephanie (MJ), Christopher (Cheryl), Stephen (Hannah), Trina (Douglas), Jon, Christian, and Miranda.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, 11:00 AM at Nine Mile Cemetery, Wallace. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday December 9,, 2023, 3:00 PM at the Wallace Elks Club.
