Elizabeth Evans

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Elizabeth “Mema” “Lizzie Mae” M. Evans, 84, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away August 14, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton. She was born April 8, 1930 in Zena, Oklahoma; Elizabeth was the daughter of James A. and Jewell L. (Rutherford) Perryman.

Elizabeth attended grade school in Oklahoma and finished her schooling in California.

Elizabeth married Walter Evans, Sr. on March 3, 1949 in Woodlake, California; Walter, Sr. passed away on March 2, 2008.

Elizabeth was a homemaker. She had also served as an L.P.N. and had worked at the Exeter Hospital in the OB Department of Exeter, California, she also served in Home Health Care and several Nursing Homes in California. Elizabeth also served as a nanny for Dr. Bolton and his family of California.

Elizabeth and her husband Walter, Sr. moved to the Silver Valley in October of 1992.

Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodlake, California. She loved and adored her family, sewing, baking pies, canning -making jellies and jams, camping with her family, fishing, thrift shopping, yard sales and traveling.

Elizabeth is survived by three children Walter (Anna) Evans, Jr. of Wallace, Idaho; Ernest “Ray” Evans of Wallace; and Louise Chambers of Hamilton, Montana; five grandchildren Heather Martin, Kinisha Britton, Renee Thornburg, Walter “Ivan” Evans III and Charlene Herman; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Martha Smith of Kingman, Arizona; one brother J.D. Perryman of Kansas City, Missouri; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, one son Clyde W. Evans and her Husband Walter Evans, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Silver Valley Worship Center Homeless Outreach, P.O. Box 196, Smelterville, Idaho 83868.
