Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Elsie Mae Houck, 83, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away June 12, 2014 at the Mountain Valley Care & Rehabilitation of Kellogg, Idaho. She was born May 10, 1931 in Conrad, Montana; Elsie was the daughter of Ralph and Lucille (Meyers) Johnson.
Elsie moved to the Silver Valley in 1945 from Canby, Oregon. She married Delbert “Del” Houck on January 16, 1947 in Superior, Montana.
Elsie was a homemaker, but had also worked as a clerk at the Hutton’s Department store of Kellogg and Barney’s Supermarket of Pinehurst.
Elsie was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville. She loved and enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, sewing, traveling and flower gardening.
Elsie is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years Delbert “Del” Houck of the family home of Pinehurst; one son Leo (Rene) Houck of Great Falls, Montana; one daughter Emily Jean (Frank) Clouse of Absarokee, Montana; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister Geraldine Williams of Portland, Oregon; Elsie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery of Kellogg. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall following services.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
