Eugene Gray

Beloved husband, son, father and grandfather, Eugene “Gene” Gilmore Gray, 69, of Page passed away September 5, 2013 at the family home of Page. He was born December 19, 1943 at Richardton, North Dakota; Gene was the son of Glenn and Willa (Cook) Gray.

Gene attended the first two years of elementary school in North Dakota. His family moved to the Silver Valley in 1950. Gene then attended the Kingston School for one year and attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1961.

Gene served in the U.S. Army Airborne during the Viet Nam War and the Cuban Crisis.

Gene first worked at the Bunker Hill Mining Company Zinc Plant; he then served as an electrician underground at the Bunker and lastly as a truck driver until the mine’s closure in 1982. He then served as a Bail Bondsman in Shoshone County for several years. And lastly and before his retirement, Gene performed contract work for the U.S. Forest Service.

Gene married Sandra Cummings on January 14, 2008 at Laughlin, Nevada.

Gene loved and enjoyed his family, fishing and hunting.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Gray of the family home of Page; his mother Willa Lunceford of Smelterville, Idaho; ten step-children Yvonne Dunne of Seattle, Washington, Laureen Chaffin of Page, Leford Abey of Post Falls, Idaho, Tessa Sabala of Smelterville, Norman Dotson of Wisconsin, Cassie Clary of Smelterville, Boyd Dotson of Cataldo, Adella Dotson of Pine Creek, David Sundstrom of Spokane, Washington and Rita Byrd of Wyoming; twenty-seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Gene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and two wives.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Pastor Art Fleming officiating. Interment will be held at the Coeur d’ Alene Memorial Gardens of Coeur d’ Alene.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
