Eva June Roethler, 95

Eva June Roethler, 95, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away February 16, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society Silver Wood Village of Silverton.  She was born February 7, 1924 in Spokane, Washington; Eva was the daughter of Frank and Jeana (Zanetti) Wilson.

Eva attended and graduated from the Colfax High School of Colfax, Washington in 1943.  While attending high school, Eva studied and received her pilots license.

Eva had resided mainly in the states of Oregon and California.  She moved to the Silver Valley six years ago, to be near her family.

Eva married Clarence “Red” Roethler in the late 1940’s in California; Red passed away in 1988.

Eva had served as a clerk for the JC Penney store.  Eva and Red had owned and operated several small businesses including a Bar and Restaurant and Laundromats.  They had also owned a real estate flipping business for many years.

Eva loved and enjoyed gardening, cooking, music and was a wonderful seamstress.  Eva was one of the original trash to treasure persons and delighted in repurposing things.

Eva is survived by one sister Frankie Mogensen of Silverton, Idaho; four nieces Jean (Jay) Gunter of Carson City, Nevada, Shari Mogensen also of Carson City, Eva (Dave) Truean of Wallace, Idaho and Lynn Mogensen and Dennis O’Brien of Wallace; she is also survived by four great-nieces.  Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Red and life-time friends Bill and Lee Jago.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 11:00 A.M., at the Good Samaritan Silver Wood Village Chapel of Silverton with Pastor Art Fleming officiating.  Graveside Services will also be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery of Eagle Point, Oregon at a later date.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Good Samaritan Silver Wood Village for the wonderful care and love that was shown to Eva.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 884, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
