Floyd Elmer Culver, 91

Floyd Elmer Culver, 91, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away November 21, 2017 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg, Idaho.  He was born December 19, 1925 in Spokane, Washington; Floyd was the son of Floyd Edward and Helen Marie (Heimlick) Culver.

Floyd moved to the Silver Valley as a toddler with his family.  He attended schools in Silver King and Kellogg.  Floyd served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

Floyd married Helen G. Gravelle on September 25, 1949 in Kellogg; Helen passed away on November 20, 2007.  He later married Mary (Bagshaw) Hendrickson on October 11, 2009 in Osburn.

Floyd had worked at the Bunker Hill Zinc Plant for eight years.  He then went to work at Burns Yaak Saw Mill of Eagle (between Murray and Prichard).  Floyd lastly had worked for the Shoshone County Road District, retiring after thirty years.

Floyd had dual membership in the Masonic Lodge #50 of Mullan and the Masonic Lodge #20 of Murray; he had also served as Worshipful Master several times, as well as, Floyd served as Past Worthy Patron of the Easter Star.  He was also a proud member and Past Commander of the Osburn V.F.W. #1675.

Floyd is survived by his wife Mary Culver; his children Richard & Juanita Dolson of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Monica & Ben Sheppard of Cataldo, Idaho, Fred & Ruth Culver of Pharr, Texas; Mary’s four children; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Helen, one sister Helen Stainbrook and one son David Culver.

Memorial Services and A Celebration of Floyd’s Life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church of Osburn, with Rev. Cody Karst and Rev. Ben Sheppard officiating.  A potluck reception will be held at the Church following services.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Osburn V.F.W. #1675, P.O. Box 534, Osburn, Idaho 83849.
