Jacklyn Talbot
Baker
Sep 8, 1937 — Oct 11, 2026
Jacklyn Talbot Baker (Neuens), age 89, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026 in Kellogg, Idaho with her husband, Roger by her side. Born September 7, 1937, alongside her twin sister, Elsie, Jackie lived a full life of travel, spending time with family and roadside antique collecting and reselling.
Jackie was born in Alpine, Texas to parents Jack Neuens and Esther Soule. Raised in Milford, Connecticut, Jackie worked the family’s Rancho-Del-Camino Riding Stable and the Rodeo on Post Road. Upon graduating high school in 1956, she traveled often, eventually seeing all of the lower 48 states and Alaska. Jackie was an accomplished equestrian endurance rider and even performed rodeo tricks. She spent most of her life in New England and the Pacific Northwest, working as an early data processor and dabbling in real estate.
Jackie was quiet by anyone’s measure. What she lacked in voice was surpassed by clear wit and intelligence. Jackie could always be found terrorizing a crossword, reading a book, or correctly guessing every question on Jeopardy. She took no issue in destroying you in Scrabble.
After marrying Roger Baker on May 21, 1983, Jackie settled down in the Silver Valley of North Idaho, where she would spend the last 35 years of her life. Here, a house was built shrouded in antiques and authentic western décor. But her love for the northeast never left her. She made it a ritual of taking the pilgrimage to New England, visiting her twin sister and best friend, Elsie almost every fall.
Jackie battled Parkinson’s Disease for the last two decades of her life. She fought tenaciously, doing exercises and therapy until the end. In those hard years, Roger was her devoted caretaker tending to her day and night.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie, and stepson, Rob Crispin. She is survived by her husband, Roger, beloved niece and nephew, one grandniece, two grand nephews, and stepson, Michael.
Services and or a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
