Jayden Dakota
Remillong Hawthorne
May 13, 1997 — Sep 20, 2026
Kellogg, Idaho
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Jayden Dakota Hawthorne, age 29, whose life ended far too soon.
Jayden was truly a light in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He had the biggest heart, a warm spirit, and a way of bringing laughter and happiness wherever he went. He loved people deeply and gave freely of himself. To his family and friends, he wasn't simply someone they loved - he was someone who made life brighter just by being in it.
Jayden enjoyed fishing, riding motorbikes, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved his niece and nephews and treasured the time he spent with them. And, of course, there was Carlos, his beloved cat, who held a very special place in Jayden's heart. Carlos was more than just a pet; he was Jayden's companion and was deeply loved.
Jayden worked as an underground miner at the Sunshine Mine, a demanding job that reflected his hardworking nature, strength, and determination. He took pride in his work and in the friendships he made with those who worked alongside him.
When the workday was over, one of Jayden's favorite places to shine was behind a microphone. He loved karaoke. Whether he was singing his heart out, making everyone laugh, or encouraging someone else to take their turn, Jayden knew how to turn an ordinary evening into a memory. Those who loved him will forever hear his voice in the songs and remember the smile that came with it.
Jayden also loved his Miata, which carried the license plate "MORELUV." The plate reflected something Jayden truly believed - that the world needed more love. It was a simple message that said so much about the way he looked at life and the kind of world he hoped for.
Behind that bright smile and generous heart, Jayden also carried struggles that were not always visible to those around him. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder that even those who bring the most light into the lives of others may be carrying burdens we cannot see. May Jayden's memory remind us to lead with kindness, love a little more deeply, and always make room for compassion.
He is survived by his mother, Janita Shipp; his father, David Hawthorne; his grandfather, James David Hawthorne; his brother Jordie Remillong, Jordie's wife Yvette, and their sons Kolten, Kaden, and Karson; his brother Jaymes Hawthorne, his girlfriend Heather O'Neill, and their children Aubrey and Murphy; his sister Sam Brown and her partner, April Davis; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Jayden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Betty Shipp, and his grandmother, Barbra Ann Peyton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Timbers Roadhouse in Cataldo, Idaho.
He will be remembered for his kindness, for his laughter, for his songs, for his big heart, for the way he loved his family and friends, and most of all, for the light he brought into this world.
Donations may be made to the family's GoFundMe, which can be found on Heather O'Neill's Facebook page.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone who has shown such an incredible outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A very special thank-you to Timbers Roadhouse in Cataldo for graciously hosting and catering Jayden's Celebration of Life.
Jayden's "MORELUV" plate carried a message worth remembering: the world could always use a little more love.
