Jesse William Mitchell McKinney, 69

Jesse “Mickey” William Mitchell McKinney, 69, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away August 13, 2020 at his home of Kellogg, Idaho.  He was born January 7, 1951 in Visalia, California; Mickey was the son of Russell and Grace (Price) McKinney.

Mickey grew up in California where he attended and graduated high school. He then attended the Police Academy. Mickey served in law enforcement for many years and later in life as a security guard before retiring.

In 1980, Mickey married Debra Zens and together raised five children. They later divorced. Mickey met his long-time companion Liz Peak in 1993 and helped raise her young daughter Lacey Peak.

Mickey had many passions in life. He enjoyed being in the great outdoors, bow hunting, fishing and target shooting. He also enjoyed writing, reading and ghost hunting. Mickey loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Mickey will be remembered for being a loving goof ball that could make anyone laugh.

Mickey is survived by his significant other Liz Peak; six children Jeff (Elise) Higgins, Chuck (Marie) Higgins, Crystal (Steve) Staaben, Sureena (Derick) Anabel, Josh McKinney and Lacey Peak; twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mickey was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
