Joan Rosetta Christmann, 77

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Joan Rosetta Christmann,77, of Kellogg, Idaho passed away on March 10, 2019 at the Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was born February 6, 1942; the daughter of Donald and Opal (Tallage) Denison.

Joan has been a citizen of the Silver Valley for over 60 years. She worked at the Sunshine Inn for 3 years, but her real passion was raising her children and providing a wonderful home for her family.

Joan enjoyed being out in nature. She enjoyed fishing for Trout, Blueback, and Catfish at Rose Lake and off of the Coeur d’ Alene River. She loved to camp wherever she could and also enjoyed hunting. It was in the beautiful outdoors that she taught her daughters to pick huckleberries and mushrooms, a favorite past time.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Christmann of Kellogg, Idaho; her daughters, Melva (Marty) Kaylor of Kellogg and Diana (Roy) Raiha of Kellogg; her ten grandchildren: Melvin L. Christmann, Garrett Inlow, Jedidiah Inlow, Majorjon Kaylor, Robert Kaylor, Joshua Kaylor, Ty Clinton, Keyra Clinton, Deztiny Raiha, and Raycheal Raiha; her two sisters, Glenda Christmann and Tina Sandborn, her brother Mike Hydaman, as well as many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by both parents, Donald and Opal; two sisters, Darlene and Donna, as well as her brother, Erwin.
