Joy Clark

Joy Ellen Clark, 60, of Woodland Park- Wallace, passed away October 6, 2013 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. She was born January 20, 1953 at Phillipsburg, Montana; Joy was the daughter of Gene and Velma (Schleinger) Oakes.

Joy moved to the Silver Valley in 1968 from Montana. She attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1972. Joy married Richard “Dick” Clark on October 14, 1972 at Wallace, Idaho.

Joy served as a bus driver for the Wallace School District #393 for many years. And in recent years, she was a clerk at the Hico convenience store and gas station of Wallace for several years.

Joy loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren, reading, crocheting and baking.

Joy is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” Clark, Sr. of the family home of Woodland Park-Wallace; two children Carla (Brandon) Johnson of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Richard (Darci) Clark, Jr. of Coeur d’ Alene; six grandchildren Cody Clark-Cline, Jake and Jon Dellinger, Austin Johnson, Rylea Johnson and Garrett Clark; her brothers and sisters Cheri Oakes of Chelan, Washington, David Oakes of Harrison, Idaho, Debbie Oakes of Osburn and Gene Oakes of Kellogg; Joy is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Naomi Clark and one brother Bernie Oakes.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church of Christ Congregational of Wallace with Rev. Art Fleming officiating. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Wallace Elks following services; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Idaho Special Olympics, 199 E. 52nd, Garden City, Idaho 83714.
