Joyce Mae (Gabel) Sciuchetti, 80, of Kellogg, ID, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on August 12, 2023 at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. Heaven gained a beautiful soul as Joyce went to be in the comforting arms of Jesus. After a long battle with cancer and many complications, she is no longer in pain and in suffering.

Joyce was born on March 29, 1943 in Kellogg, ID, a daughter of the late Fred Gabel and Rose (Myers) Gabel. Joyce graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1961. She married Richard Sciuchettii in 1963 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. This year, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Joyce worked as a bank teller for many years at First Security Bank, Idaho First, and West One Bank. She also worked at the Silver Valley Analytical Lab. She enjoyed gardening, reading, going up the river and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the quilting club.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her step-father, Jim Foley.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 60 years, Richard Sciuchetti; three children, Shane (Jerri) Sciuchetti, Jeff (Tricia) Sciuchetti, and Teresa (Josh) Kimball; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew), Josh (Jessica), Noah, Terry, Abbe, Nate, and Logan (Madison); seven great-grandchildren, Ayden, Dakota, Hazleigh, Kyler, Kaezlyn, Ronnie, and Ryker; a brother, Clark (Irene) Gabel; a sister, Sharron (Bill) Robinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Our world could never do justice to what an incredible person she was. Joyce was the most kind, loving, selfless and giving person. She gave, cared for, and loved others without pause.

At Joyce’s request, her family will gather privately to celebrate her life. Donations may be made in her memory to either the St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

We celebrate the person she was. “This is not a goodbye, but ‘I will see you again’.” – author unknown.
