Juan Martinez

June 29, 1959 — September 4, 2013

Juan “Tony” Antonio Martinez, 54, went home to be with Jesus on September 4, 2013; he passed away at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. Tony was born on June 29, 1959 in Fresno, California; he was the son of Miguel and Erma Martinez.

Tony spent his school years growing up in the Central Valley of California. He met Kim Buchanan in Blythe, California in 1988 and thus began their life-long relationship. Tony became the proud father of Jerry Rael, Ryan White and Andrew Rivera. Tony and Kim officially celebrated their special life together on February 14, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tony set a good work ethic for his sons by working hard in the agricultural industry while in Blythe. In 1992, the family moved to the Silver Valley and in a short time they considered this home. While living in Kellogg, Tony worked for Insulspan and was also a PDI Technician and Mechanic for Dave Smith Motors. In 2001, Tony moved to Kingman, Arizona and continued to work in the auto industry and for Praxair Corporation. In 2010, he felt the call back to the Pacific Northwest, where he and Kim settled in Smelterville.

Tony had a deep love for his family and was known for always teasing his sons yet encouraging them to continue to be better men, fathers and citizens. A true North Idahoan, he loved his guns and cars. In 2013, Kim and Tony made the personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; Tony now sits in the grandstands of heaven cheering us on.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife Kim Martinez of the family home of Smelterville; three sons Jerry Rael and Andrew Rivera both of Coeur d’ Alene and Ryan White of Kingman, Arizona; a special granddaughter Kallie Rael of Coeur d’ Alene. Tony was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11: 00 A.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg with Ron Stice officiating.

SHOSHONE FUNERAL SERVICES & CREMATORY KELLOGG, IDAHO is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
