Linda Marie Walker

October 9, 1946 — August 19, 2025

Osburn, Idaho

Linda Marie Walker, aged seventy-eight, passed away on August 19 at Cascadia Nursing Home in Silverton, Idaho where she had spent the past three years. Born on October 9, 1946 to Angie and Red Russell, she was a lifelong resident of Woodland Park. She married Jerry Walker of Gem, Idaho upon graduating from high school.

She worked a variety of jobs, including bank teller, house cleaner, and caregiver to the elderly. She most enjoyed being a cashier in a grocery store. In her spare time, Linda loved going to bingo with her mother and younger sister as well as regularly playing the lotto and buying scratch-off tickets. She could never say no to a sweet treat or a glass of iced diet Pepsi. Often, she could be heard expressing emotions singing songs while doing the dishes or driving her red Chevy Nova.

Linda was always willing to help with childcare, and her grandchildren all remember the laughter and attention she showered upon them, whether camping at the family property on the Bull River or taking them to early-morning garage sales throughout the Silver Valley. She also liked to put them to work organizing the many items she bought via mail order. They all say Grandma Linda believed in them and helped foster their independence. She even once rescued her grandson Jacob from being stalked by a mountain lion.

She is survived by three daughters: Susan (Randy) Moles of Wallace, ID, Sharon (Ron) Sullivan of Osburn, ID, Jeri Walker of Thompson Falls, MT; two grandsons: Jimmy (Bridgett) Chambers of Wallace, ID and Jacob Sullivan of Moscow, ID; three granddaughters: Erica (Ryan) Danielson of Rapid City, South Dakota, Kelsie Sullivan of Wallace, ID, and Alicia (Brad) Sullivan of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; seven great-grandchildren: Axel, Charlotte, Avery, Cadence, Silas, Preston, and James; as well as her older sister Janet Harrison of Frenchtown, MT and nieces and nephews of the immediate and great variety including Karin Harrison of Frenchtown, MT, Scott Harrison of Houston, TX, David O’Shea of Liberty Lake, WA, Patrick Jack O’Shea of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Davey and Orin Sullivan of Spokane, WA.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father, whom she helped take care of at separate times in her home as they aged. The loss of her sister Susan to a stroke nearly twenty years ago impacted her greatly, and her husband passed away at home at age eighty in 2022. Others who also went before her include brothers-in-law Patrick O’Shea and Sharkey Harrison as well as her niece Erin O’Shea.

She often put the needs of others before her own. May she rest in peace. A formal memorial service is not being held, and the family will scatter her ashes at some point in the future.
