Lloyd Beauregard

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Lloyd James Beauregard, 93, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away May 14, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society – Silver Wood Village, of Silverton, Idaho. He was born June 26, 1920 in Windsor, VT; Lloyd was the son of Chester John Beauregard and Jessica Electa Rivers.

Lloyd moved to the Silver Valley (Wallace) in November of 2004 from California to be closer to family.

Lloyd served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in New Guinea, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. After WWII he worked in a cast iron pipe foundry in Bessemer, Alabama. While there he was a part-time farmer and built a home with his own hands. After a time he relocated to southern California where he went to work as a jig and fixture builder for Rohr Industries of San Diego, CA and Douglas Aircraft Company of Riverside and Long Beach, CA. Eventually he hired on with the United States Postal Service where he retired after 22 years of service.

Lloyd was an avid camper and loved the outdoors. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America where he coached the boys toward badges in cooking, rope making, electricity, and radio communications. His hobbies included music (a life long love), lapidary, carpentry, metal detecting, and amateur radio (WD6CSS).

Lloyd is survived by; two daughters Maggie (Tom) Thornton and Jeannie (Jerry) Mitchell of Wallace, Idaho; three grandchildren Steven (Sonia) Thornton of California, James (Andrea) Thornton of Indiana and Ben (Billie Jean) Schlotte of Wallace, thirteen great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley (Bill) Lozier of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Ruby (Tillman), brother Milton, sister Irene Waters, and grand-daughter Karyn Carey.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held. Lloyd will be inurned at Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
