Lorraine Erma Grant, 87, of Coeur d’Alene, ID, beloved mother of Susan Grant, passed away on September 17, 2024 at her home in Coeur d’Alene. Lorraine was born on September 3, 1937 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Dulcie and Tom Hall. Lorraine and her family moved to Kellogg, Idaho in 1938 where her parents worked in the family dairy business, Superior Dairy.
Lorraine was one of 6 cousins who grew up close together as her aunts and uncles lived nearby and worked in the family dairy. She and her brother, Gordy, and her cousins, played, grew up, ate plenty of ice cream, and had many happy memories together. After graduating from high school in 1956, she helped her mother in the local flower shop. She met and married Robert Grant in 1961.
They had a daughter together, Susan Lorraine. Her husband and Susan’s father passed away in 1964. Lorraine worked at various retail jobs through the years. Her favorite treats to the end were ice cream, and white cake with white frosting, with a custard filling.
She is survived by her sister in-law Sally Hall; Sally and Gordy’s sons, Jeffrey, Warren, (Cyndi) and Brad (Dorothy); and dozens of loving cousins.
Thank you to the Hospice of North Idaho who helped in her final days. The family wishes that instead of sending flowers, donations be made to the Hospice of North Idaho in Lorraine Grant’s memory.
A brief family graveside service will be held September 24, 1:00 PM, at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, ID. A memorial celebration will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 with a location and time to be determined.
Memories of Lorraine and messages of condolence may be shared with her family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting the Grant family with arrangements.
