Obituary

Marilyn L. (Reasoner) Griffin White, 91, of Wallace, ID passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026.

She was born August 22, 1934, in Newport, Washington, to Stephen S. Reasoner and Emmalou M. Fish (Thomas). In 1942, she moved to Burke, Idaho. She graduated as Salutatorian from Wallace High School in 1952 and was the oldest of five daughters, maintaining close relationships with her sisters and their families throughout her life.

On December 29, 1952, she married Dean Griffin, and together they had three sons, Scott, Dave, and Kelly Griffin. In 1983, she married Les “Howdy” White. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dean Griffin and Les White, and her son, Kelly Griffin.

Marilyn’s life was anchored in her faith and her commitment to the Silver Valley community. A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, she faithfully served the Wallace/Burke church for decades. Her professional life was closely tied to the Frank A. Morbeck estate. Beginning in 1984, she worked for Frank Morbeck and later served as President of Snowshoe Mining Company, Silver Cable Mining Company, and Cuba Mining Company, overseeing the Morbeck Building and related properties under the Frank A. Morbeck Testamentary Trust.

“Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” — Philippians 2:12–13

Marilyn will be remembered as smart and discerning, compassionate and selfless, with a quiet humor that surfaced at just the right moments. Her steady presence, strong faith, and genuine care for others shaped both her family and her community.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Griffin and Dave Griffin; her grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her sisters; and extended family members.

Her life was a quiet testament to faith in action, and her legacy will continue in the lives she touched.
