Marion Lowe

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Marion “Sonny” Levi Lowe, 89, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away October 11, 2013 at the Regency Pacific of Pinehurst. He was born January 31, 1924 at Atoka, Oklahoma; Sonny was the son of Henry and Zula (Welton) Lowe.

Sonny attended and graduated from the San Joaquin Delta Junior college of Stockton, California, where he studied engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

Sonny first married Mabel “Jean” Curson on February 20, 1942 at Chino, California; she passed away in November of 1970. He then married Marjorie Ann Fulton on November 6, 1971 at Carson City, Nevada.

Sonny had worked for San Joaquin County of Stockton as head engineer for housing and road development for many years.

Sonny was a member and past grand master of the Masonic Lodge. He loved and enjoyed serving as a professional guitar player- playing in the U.S. Army and various professional bands. Sonny had once played in a concert of which Bob Hope was in the audience. He had also played the fiddle for Blue Grass bands. Music was Sonny’s love.

Sonny moved to the Silver Valley in April of 2013 to be near his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Ron Wood and his grandchildren.

Sonny is survived by his wife Marjorie Lowe of Stockton, California; one daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Ron Wood of Pinehurst, Idaho; his step-son Nick (Shirley) Rollins of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren Ron (Michelle) Wood of Rose Lake, Idaho, Ryan (Kelsey) Wood of Hayden, Idaho, Rusty (Tami) Wood of Pinehurst, Shelley (Jim) Cook of Lewiston, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jean, one son Robert Lowe, one great-grandson Brock Wayne Wood, three brothers and two sisters.

Cremation was held and inurnment will be held at the Stockton Cemetery of Stockton, California.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Kellogg High School Music Department, 2 Jacobs Gulch, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
