Nancie Ann Burkhart, 82, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away on August 11, 2025 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Nancie was born on April 20, 1943 in Lansing, Mich., a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Nancie met her soul mate, Roy Burkhart, after moving to Idaho with her family in 1962. They were married on May 9, 1964, then settled in Pinehurst a few years later. Nancie became a mother by marriage to Roy's children Pam, Craig and Lori.
Nancie loved people and being involved in the community. She served on the Pinehurst City Council and the Pinehurst Planning and Zoning Commission and was a proud member of the P/K Lions Club. Nancie was awarded a plaque of appreciation and achievement for organizing the Pinehurst Days Parade and Friday Nite Steak Bar-B-Q. As an active member of her church, Our Savior Lutheran in Pinehurst, she served as a Deacon as well as on the church council, participating in Quilting and Bible Study groups.
In addition to her parents, Nancie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy.
Survivors include, Pam (Gordon) Elliott of Snohomish, Wash, Craig of Hayden, Idaho, Lori (Don) Kemper of Post Falls, Idaho; nine grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst, Idaho. Private family inurnment will occur at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg, ID
All of us at Shoshone Funeral Services will truly miss Nancie. She was always there when we needed a helping hand at Our Savior Lutheran Church, especially during the many luncheons after funeral services. Her kindness, dedication, and quiet support meant so much to all of us.
