Oma Phyllis Davis, 89, longtime resident of Mullan, ID, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on March 1, 2024 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Oma was born on September 12, 1934 in Hensley, WVa., a daughter of Lloyd and Annie (Church) England.

In her younger years, Oma worked at Woolworths for a number of years while living in Welch, WVa. She married Samuel Davis in Welch on June 21, 1952 and later on the family moved to Mullan, ID in 1958. They moved to Page, AZ and Kanab, UT briefly before returning to Mullan, ID where they made it their permanent home. Samuel passed away in 2001.

Oma was a stay at home mom raising her children and was a full-time special needs caregiver to her daughter, Phyllis “Dee” Davis. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to spend her time camping, fishing, and sitting on her patio watching the birds. In later years, Oma loved to travel, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Samuel, Oma is preceded in death by her precious daughter, Phyllis “Dee” Davis, who passed away in 2016.

Survivors include her 4 children, Sam (Kathy) Davis of Mullan, ID, JoAnn (Gale) Hayes of Priest River, ID, Tammy (Dan) Polla of Mullan, ID, and Pamela Mitchell of Kellogg, ID; 9 grandchildren, Robert Davis of Hauser Lake, ID, Elizabeth Seatz of Kingston, ID, Jeremy Hayes of Colorado, Joe Hayes of Priest River, ID, Shambri Hegbloom of Osburn, ID, Lindsey DeHart of Kellogg, ID, Sammy Polla of Moscow, ID, Kayla Mitchell of Kellogg, ID, and Rilena Burrell of Kellogg, ID; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Lona Bingham of Mayer, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Oma’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to either the Mullan Community Foundation, the Mullan Volunteer Fire Department, or to the Special Olympics - Silver Valley Superstars
