Obituary

Paul Edward Robinson was born on April 9, 1940, in Shelby, Montana, where he was raised by his mother and grandparents. He attended Shelby High School, where he excelled in athletics, especially baseball. After graduating in 1958, he remained proud of his hometown and enjoyed returning for class reunions throughout the years.

On August 23, 1969, Paul married the love of his life, Marjorie Barney, at the Hitching Post in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Together they built a loving family. Paul is survived by his daughters, Anna Hoxie of Burlington, Washington; Amy (Ed) Krause of Conrad, Montana; and Cara (Sean) Kendrick of Hayden, Idaho. He was also blessed with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Marje; and his cherished daughter, Tiffany.

Paul's love of music found the perfect outlet through his work as co-owner of KWAL Radio, where he spent more than 40 years serving the Silver Valley. Alongside his best friend and business partner, George White, Paul could often be found traveling throughout the valley, selling advertising to help keep Silver Dollar Radio thriving. Through the radio station, he built countless friendships and became a familiar face in the community he loved. For more than four decades, Paul was part of the soundtrack of the Silver Valley, connecting neighbors, supporting local businesses, and helping keep the community informed and entertained. Whether he was on the radio, making a sales call, or visiting over coffee, Paul had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend.

Paul also had a lifelong passion for art and coin collecting. He loved sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with anyone willing to listen, and conversations about either subject could last for hours. He remained an active part of the Silver Valley community and treasured his regular coffee gatherings with friends at Sam's in Kellogg. Those mornings were always filled with laughter, stories, and plenty of entertainment.

Paul may have been born and raised in north-central Montana, but he was a Silver Valley guy at heart. He was a devoted supporter of the Silver Valley and the community he proudly called home. He loved his family deeply, valued his many friends, and truly never met a stranger. His kindness, generosity, quick smile, and gift for conversation touched countless lives. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he cultivated, and the community he helped strengthen. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A funeral service will be held at Shoshone Funeral Services on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following at Radio Brewing in Kellogg.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the athletic programs at Mullan, Wallace, or Kellogg High Schools in Paul's honor.
