Ronald “Ron” James Green, 66
Ronald “Ron” James Green, 66, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away August 12, 2022 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg. He was born on August 13, 1955 in Kellogg; Ron was the son of James Edward and Nancy Florence (Perkins) Green.
Ron has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1973. Ron furthered his studies in safety and remediation.
Ron was united in marriage to Rhonda Hautala on November 28, 1980 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Mullan.
Ron served as Safety Manager (known affectionately as Safety Ron) for several remediation projects including the Libby Superfund Site, a project he was most proud of and received the Presidential Award for this project.
Ron was a member of the Kellogg Elks #1841 and was honored as “Elk Of The Year” for 2021 – 2022; he also was a member of the Laborers Union Local #238 of Spokane, Washington and the Tuesday Night Social Club.
Ron loved and enjoyed hot rods, he was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and enjoyed hanging out with his Bros Randy and Ron Hautala and his son Chris, in the “Hawk Nest”; he also enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating, camping, fishing and listening to 70’s and 80’s rock music. Ron had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody; he was so loved and will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of forty-one years, Rhonda Green of the family home of Kellogg; one son Chris Green of Post Falls, Idaho; one granddaughter Olivia Green of Rathdrum, Idaho; his mom Nancy Green of Silverton; four brothers Dan Green of Pinehurst, Mark Green also of Pinehurst, Randy Hautala (Shelley) of Post Falls, Idaho, Ron Hautala (Sheri) of Vero Beach, Florida; sister-in-law Rene Nichols (Chris) of Athol, Idaho; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his father James Green, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ron and Phyllis Hautala.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Mullan. A Reception/luncheon and a Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at the Kellogg Elks following services; this will be potluck and everyone is welcome. It is encouraged for everyone to wear your favorite football attire.
