Sandra Kay Hess

Sandra Kay Holden Hess, 79, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

Born on August 2, 1946, in Wilmington, North Carolina, Sandra lived across the United States in West Palm Beach, Florida, McAllen, Texas, Bakersfield, California, and most recently in Waco ,Texas. Sandra dedicated her life to caring for others. As a nurse, she spent her years helping those in need, always showing kindness, patience, and a giving spirit. Her work was more than a profession—it was a reflection of who she was at her core.

Sandra was known for her generous heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing bingo, visiting casinos, attending concerts, and enjoying a great steak. She was also passionate about her beliefs and proudly shared them with those around her.

Above all, Sandra loved her family. She is survived by her four children: Scott Hess, Kelly Painter, Gina Gonzales, and Steven Hess, as well as her eight beloved grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward.

Some of the most cherished memories of Sandra are the holidays she worked so hard to make special—especially Christmas. Even when she forgot to put names on the presents, those moments were filled with laughter, love, and a reminder that it was never about perfection, but about being together.

Sandra’s life was defined by her care for others, her resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A small service will be held in Kellogg, Idaho, where she will be laid to rest.
