Terry Fred Lininger

December 19, 1939 — April 4, 2024

Kellogg, ID

On April 4th Terry Lininger passed away at home surrounded by his family and is now in the arms of Jesus after a long battle of Parkinson’s.

Terry Fred Lininger was born on December 19, 1939 at Providence Hospital in Wallace to Fred and Geraldine Lininger.

Terry is what some people would call a workaholic, as this is where he was the happiest.  He took pride in everything he did. He loved his children and grandchildren and took the time with them to teach good work ethics and mostly to teach them about Jesus and the importance of living for the Lord.

He was a man of few words but when he spoke he had great words of wisdom and was always there to help anyone he met.  He always made a way to share the Lord.

Terry graduated from Wallace High School and while attending N.I.C. he worked for Forest Service fighting fires.  He also worked at Bunker Hill and Star Mine in Burke where he learned the blacksmith trade that became his art.  After the Star Mine shut down he went to work at Northwest Mine Supply and continued his trade of metal work.  He could make anything out of metal.

He married the love of his life, Catherine Berger, June 1, 1963 and together they raised 5 children. Terry and Catherine lived their whole lives together helping others and through the years have had over 19 foster children.

Terry loved the outdoors and their little farm up Montomery Gulch and spent many hours with his kids and grandkids working on farm, getting hay, reloading bullets, going for walks, and eating chocolate chip cookies.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Geraldine Lininger, son Dennis Lininger, and grandson Evan Daniel Lininger.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Lininger, children Donna Kelso, Joseph (Carla) Lininger, Diana (Joe) Margason, and Mike Lininger, brother Bill (Betty) Lininger, brother-in-law Donald (Nancy) Berger, grand-children Emma Lininger, Janea (Damon) Clark, Matthew (Siera) Kelso, Justin (Chancy) Margason, Jessica (Jesse) Lambert, Ashley (Paul) Benton, Austin, Braiden, Jennah, and Brooklyn Lininger, and great grandchildren Paul, Jackson, Titus, Maverick, Evelyn, Cecelia, and Dawson.

Special thanks to the family and their support, Kacey and Jeremy, Loving Care Staff, Dr Branz and staff, and Hospice.
