Thomas "Tom" Rogers

Thomas “Tom” Allen Rogers, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great, and great-great grandfather, passed away on February 5, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society – Silverwood Village, Silverton, ID. Tom was born on August 31, 1937 in Okmulgee, OK, a son of the late Marvin and Franceil (Thames) Rogers.

Tom attended schools in Oklahoma and later went on to the US Army. He married Marilyn June Peek in November of 1959 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. To this union were born three children, Nancy, Ronald, and Walter. Marilyn passed away on April 18, 2010.

Tom worked for the US Forest Service for many years and was a Smoke Jumper. He had also been a salesman for various furniture stores throughout the years. Tom was a member of the Elks and Eagles and also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his two sons; Duane Rogers of Pinehurst, ID, and Walter (Melinda) Rogers of Wallace, ID; his daughter, Nancy (Leonard) Hoiland of Osburn, ID; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, three brothers, George Rogers of Montana, Dale Rogers of Oklahoma, and Richard Rogers, also of Oklahoma; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At Tom’s request, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place at a later date at Shoshone Memorial Gardens, Kingston, ID.
