Uldean Mershon

April 29, 1951 — November 19, 2021

Uldean “Dean” Edward Mershon Jr.  71, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away November 19, 2021 at his home of Wallace, Idaho.  He was born April 29, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida; Uldean was the son of Uldean Sr. and Faye (Douglas) Mershon.

Dean’s father served in the military so Dean Jr. spent time living at many different places as a child. Dean attended grade school in France. Later in life Dean returned to France to visit and found the house he lived in near his retirement.  In his High School years Uldean was living in Colorado Springs where he attended Palmer High School graduating with the class of 1969. After High School, Dean attended Colorado Springs Community College where he received his Associates degree.

In 1974, Dean married Susan Rosekelly in Colorado Springs. They spent the next 19 years in St. Mary’s Glacier, Colorado. Dean and Susan owned and operated three business, Building houses, The Glacier Station “ gifts, snacks and information” and in the winter Alpine Adventures “guided snowmobile tours”, all while raising three boys, Beau, Ryan and Mike.

Dean was a talented wood worker and loved to teach others the trade. He was known as an encyclopedia that always had the right answer. He was also passionate about the great outdoors, conservation, hunting, traveling, exploring, and reading.  In later years, Dean became passionate about politics and enjoyed discussing them with his close friends.

Dean is survived by his three sons, Uldean Mershon III, Ryan Mershon and Mike (Kayla) Mershon; one grandson, Logan DeCouteau; two siblings, Bruce Wayne Mershon and his sister, Deborah Kingston and Jamais Longdon. Dean was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Uldean was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jennifer Mershon-Zanini.

Per Dean’s wishes cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time.
