Wayne Daniel Summers, 86

Wayne Daniel Summers, 86, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away January 23, 2022 at Kootenai Hospital of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  He was born February 17, 1935 in Emmet, Idaho.  Wayne was the son of Arthur and Elsie (Williams) Summers.

Growing up Wayne moved around a lot with his family. They eventually settled in the Silver Valley. Wayne attended and graduated from Wallace High School Class of 1953. After graduation Wayne joined the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After being honorable discharged Wayne returned home to the Silver Valley. Wayne worked for many years at the Bunker Hill Mine as a mechanic until his retirement.

In 1973, Wayne was married to Lee Crow at Dr. Carbury’s Chapel in the Garden.

Wayne was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Rita’s Catholic Church of Kellogg.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years Lee Summers; a daughter Danielle; four step-children Teresa, Larry, Karen and Jim. Wayne is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00A.M. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church of Kellogg, Idaho.
