Zelda May Meligan

Zelda May Meligan, 86, of Kingston, ID, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 3, 2025 at her home in Kingston. Zelda was born on January 8, 1939 in Pinehurst, ID, a daughter of the late Roy Hollingsworth and Zelda (Harbour) Hollingsworth.

Zelda graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1957. She married Glen Meligan on June 9, 1957 in Kellogg, ID. Zelda, alongside her husband, Glen, operated the Kellogg Bakery and then the Fairway Glen Bakery in Pinehurst. Zelda was a wonderful cake decorator. She enjoyed doing many different crafts, especially sewing and knitting. Zelda was also had a gift for music and could play about any instrument handed to her. Zelda always had a camera in her hand catching family members in funny moments. Spending time with her family was very important to Zelda.

Zelda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pinehurst.

In addition to her parents, Zelda is preceded in death by her husband, Glen, who passed away in 2018.

Survivors include her four children, Kathy (Mark) Sauer of Kingston, ID, Roger (LaVaun) Meligan of Kingston, ID, Nina (Tom) Sauer of Kingston, ID, and LaVena (Rob) Davis of Cheney, WA; eight grandchildren, Justin (Cortney) Sauer of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Elise Sauer of Kellogg, ID, Leah (Rich) White of Cullman, AL, Raemon (Paige) Sauer of Kellogg, ID, Andrew (Tiffney) Sauer, of Kellogg, ID, Amber Towles of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Rayann Towles of Bonners Ferry, ID, Dyllan Towles of Orofino, ID, and Christopher Towles of Newport, ID; numerous great-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 2:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pinehurst, ID where a reception for family and friends will follow the services.
