Helen Mae (Wiley) Dickson

Helen Mae Dickson, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2019 in Silverton, Idaho, at the age of 94. She was born on March 1, 1925, in San Diego, California. At age 13 her family moved to El Centro, California where she finished school and went to work for Pacific Telephone Company. Before leaving Pacific Telephone, Helen had advanced to Chief Operator. (1950s)

In 1950, she met and married Conrad (Jack) Dickson. They were married 61 years before Conrad passed away in March 2012. During their marriage they moved several times for Conrad’s job as a Mortician. They moved from El Centro to Santa Maria, California, and from there to Hayward, California and then to Bethel Island, California. Helen and her husband moved in 2003, at the insistence of their Godson Brad to Pinehurst Idaho; where she lived for 12 years. In 2015, Helen moved to Good Samaritan in Silverton, Idaho. She was very happy with all of the friends she made at Good Samaritan and the activities.

Helen loved cake decorating; especially decorating wedding cakes. She was known at Easter for her Sugar Eggs with panoramic scenes. Helen’s other hobbies included crocheting, knitting, and doll making. However, when the digital age-technology became popular, she loved digital photography and used the photos she took to create annual calendars as special gifts.

Helen is preceded in death by; her parents, Charles & Leila (Warner) Wiley; her Husband of 61 years, Conrad (Jack) Dickson; her brother Dale Wiley and sister Doris Pritchard. She is survived by her Godson, Brad Holmes formerly of Osburn, Idaho and Goddaughters Susan Heckel of Washington and Caryn Zimmer of Georgia. Helen is survived by many nieces and nephews; Ron Pritchard, Robert Pritchard, Beverly Zambrano, Richard Epps Dawson, and Danny & Richie Dawson.

Helen’s family wishes to thank her dear friend and long-time neighbor Winnie Williams of Pinehurst, Idaho for all her help and caring over the years.

Helen will be buried, with her husband Conrad, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.

A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
