Kim Kirsch

July 21, 1955 — March 23, 2022

Kim Kirsch passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. She was born July 21, 1955. The ugliness of pulmonary fibrosis took her at the age of 66. She never let it stop her from staying active to the end. She is survived by Stanton Edwardson (Junior), who has been her best friend, husband and companion for the last 30 years. A daughter Michelle (Jimmy) Dean, and granddaughters Morgyn and Moriah Dean (her M and Ms), who all live in Wyoming. A son Matthew Von Decker who ranches south of Circle Montana. Brother Mike (Diana) Kirsch and sister Michelle Kirsch of Montana. Also, her niece Stacy Medina and her children. She was preceded in death by both parents, sister Denise Schmidt, and nephew Wayne Michael.

I have always thanked my parents Clayton (Bud) and Sascha Kirsch for moving to Montana when I was fourteen years old. My cousin Gina Kirsch and I rode all over the Mission Mountains on our horses, back in the day when that was allowed. Also, I had too much fun staying at my other cousins, the Snyders (Eldon & Ruthie), Kathy, Kris, Kay, Kelly, Kim, and Kenny in Ronan, Montana.

I had a lot of fun fishing and driving back roads with my dogs. I had a job with the Flathead National Forest for five summers as a fire look-out. That was the best job ever! I was also an OTR truck driver, a school bus driver, and a store security for Fred Meyer. I had a lot of good jobs and I did many different things. The last part of my life was spent in Kellogg, Idaho helping Stan run the Historic Kellogg Rio Hotel for the past 20 years. We have had a many good laughs with this job, and worked for the best people! Thank you Dibs, Q-Bear, Tom & Tina, Debbie, and all the other owners for that wonderful job and great retirement!

I have had a fun childhood, a stressful young adulthood and a great mid-life. My children have made me extremely proud by who they are as people and by their accomplishments and of course, best of all, my grandchildren. Thank you God for all the different people that I have crossed paths with. If I have hurt anyone, I apologize, and if I made you smile, I am happy. My daughter and I talked about how God is always pursuing us and it’s important to stop and listen. So onto the next stage….

I want to thank God for all my pets that I loved. Please give a hug to your animals and help take care of those that need some love. In memory_ of me, you can give a donation in Jim Dandy’s (my dog) and my name to Shoshone Pet Rescue, Kellogg ID.

Her family will always remember Kim as a spirited storyteller that took you on a vacation full of laughter. She would champion for the underdogs and generously give without hesitation. She is greatly loved and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but her peace can be found in the nature around us.
