Kimberly Rae Burgess, 61

Kimberly “Kimmie” Rae Burgess, 61, of the Silver Valley passed away on February 17, 2021 at the Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was born on January 20, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of Harry & Alice Burgess.

Kim attended and graduated from the Aptos High School class of 1979. Kim loved traveling to new places and has lived in many different states including Vermont, Virginia and California before settling in Idaho. While in the Silver Valley, Kim worked for the Spokane Airport and Idaho Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator, Silver Mountain Resort and most recently the Shoshone Medical Center where she worked with many wonderful people.

In her free time Kim enjoyed spending her time on the water, going boating, water skiing and floating the river. She also enjoyed golfing with her friend Rhonda. She was very social and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Long Shot Saloon. Kim was also an animal lover and enjoyed spoiling her dogs Dudley and Ollie.

Kim is survived by her parents Harry & Patricia Burgess; three siblings Stephanie Brown, Deborah Destein and Mark Burgess; her nephew Michael Clancy and niece Rachel (Scott) Smith and step-sister Michelle (Brian) Voght. She is also survived by her dear friends Faith Isom, Wayne King and roommate Gwen. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice and her lifelong companion Larry Lightner.

Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Kim’s life will be held this coming summer.
