Marilyn Jean Lyon, 69

Marilyn Jean Lyon, 69, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away May 21, 2022 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg.  She was born April 14, 1953 in Deadwood, South Dakota; Marilyn was the daughter of John N. and Donna Marie (McLean) Nelson.

Marilyn moved to the Silver Valley with her family as a young girl.  She attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1971.

Marilyn married Gordon Lyon on March 6, 1971 in Pinehurst, Idaho.

Marilyn was a homemaker and had served as a flagger for twenty years, for several companies including Harcon Company.

Above all, Marilyn loved and enjoyed spending time with her family- she was very family-oriented.   She also enjoyed playing Texas Holdem at the Black Pearl, going to yard sales, gardening, barbecuing and fishing with the children and grandchildren at Killarney Lake; and Halloween was her favorite holiday.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved best friend and soulmate of 51 years Gordon Lyon of Osburn; three children Tina Watkins (Danny) of Amarillo, Texas, Julie Lyon of Post Falls, Idaho, Shaylan Lyon (Sara Rookstool) of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; four granddaughters Taylor, Payton, Jordan and Lily; her mother Donna Marquette of Wallace, Idaho; her sisters and brother Judy Findley of Spokane, Washington, Patti Tesky of Sturgis, South Dakota, Linda Anderson of Jefferson City, Montana, Beverly Ryser of Hayden, Idaho and John Nelson of Kingston, Idaho; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Marilyn was preceded in death by her father John N. Nelson.

A family barbecue and A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at Killarney Lake.
