Monyuette Yvonne Coplin, 69

Monyuette Yvonne Coplin, 69, of Buffalo, New York, passed away December 14, 2020 at The Schneidmiller Hospice House of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  She was born July 25, 1951 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Monyuette was the oldest of four children born to John and Ozella (Rodgers) Morris.

At a young age, Monyuette moved to Niagara Falls, New York with her parents.   As an adult, she moved to Buffalo, New York, which became her permanent home. She attended and graduated from Madonna High School in Niagara Falls and went on to attend college in Maine where she received her degree in education. Monyuette worked for former Assemblyman Arthur O. Eve and later at the Geneva B. Scruggs Community Health Center.  Monyuette also worked at the University of Buffalo where she was the Program Coordinator for the Science and Technology Enrichment Program (STEP).

Monyuette married her soul mate Jimmy Coplin on the Saint Croix Island. Jimmy passed away on August 23, 2009.

In her free time Monyuette enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family of whom she was very proud of. She was especially proud of her son and all of his accomplishment over the years. She will be remembered as a strong willed, stubborn, loving woman.

Monyuette is survived by her son Demetrius (Lindsey) Hill; five grandchildren Mercedez Hill, Emma Hill, Krystyna Johnston, Danika Johnston and Jada Hill; parents John and Ozella Morris; her brother Michael (Michele) Morris and her nephew Sean Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy and her sisters Regina and Sharon.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
