September 4, 1959 — January 10, 2022

Randy Dean Anderson, 62, of Cataldo, ID, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 10, 2022 at Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT. Randy was born on September 4, 1959 in Moscow, ID, a son of Donald Anderson and Glenda Kay (Turner) Anderson.

Randy graduated from Kootenai High School in Harrison, ID, with the Class of 1977. After graduation, he attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, where he completed the Automotive Machinist program, as well as completing some classes in accounting. For the last nine years, Randy worked treating oil wells in North Dakota.

On November 3, 1978, Randy married Lucia Sverdsten at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst, ID. The couple raised two sons, Jeremy and Casey, of which he was very proud of. He was devoted to his family and always ensured their needs were met through hard work and willingness to do whatever needed to get the job done. Randy always greatly enjoyed the family get-togethers where he could show off his skills on the BBQ.

Randy enjoyed fishing and had recently developed an interest for guns and target shooting. His Great Danes were another love of his and spent countless hours training them and taking long walks with them on his property.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Anderson; his parents-in-law, Terry and Dee Sverdsten; and a nephew, Todd Sverdsten.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lucia Anderson of Cataldo, ID; two sons, Jeremy (Hailey) Anderson of Emmett, ID, and Casey Anderson (Rebecca Thomson) of Cataldo, ID; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Lucy; his mother, Glenda Kay Anderson of St. Maries, ID; three brothers, Rob (Sara) Anderson, Brad Anderson, and Don Anderson; and three brother-in-laws, David, Paul, and Ron Sverdsten.
