Steven Edgar Leonard, 66

Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Steven Edgar Leonard passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on December 20, 2020.  Steven was born on October 11, 1954 in Spokane, Washington. He was then son of Edgar and Betty Leonard.

Steven attended and graduated from Lakeland High School, class of 1973. After graduation Steven moved around the West working as a heavy equipment operator. Steven was united in marriage to Kathy Smelcer in 1984 in Anchorage, Alaska. Together they raised three children. Steven was a loving father and always put his children first.

In 2015, Steven and Kathy moved to the Silver Valley from Post Falls, Idaho. Steven attended Real Life Ministers in Pinehurst and was a devout Christian.

In his free time Steven enjoyed working around the house, tending to the yard, riding his four-wheeler, camping and fishing. Steven also was a talented woodworker and was known for making the cutest bird houses. Steven enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and his beloved dog Lulu.

Steven is survived by his wife of 36 years Kathy Leonard; three children Dana Leonard, Kori (Tim) Ost and Kyle (Michelle) Leonard; eleven grandchildren Kristin, Ashley, Cadence, Taylor, Jace, Geneviene, Philomena, Arabella, Emma, Alora and Logan; his mother Betty Leonard; siblings Mark (Bridget) Leonard, Dan (Pam) Leonard, Lori (Jim) Weatherford and Kathy (Joe) Coyle. Steven is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Edgar and brothers Mike, James and Greg.

Cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.
