Everett Raymond McCorkle, 76, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away August 24, 2011 at the Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born July 26, 1935 at Nampa, Idaho; Everett was the son of Andrew and Velva (Rutledge) McCorkle.
Everett moved to the Silver Valley- Burke, with his family at a young age. He attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1954. Everett then served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
Everett married Jean Kinnick on February 23, 1957 at Wallace, Idaho.
Everett was a miner and had mainly worked at the Sunshine Mine, but had also worked at various mines throughout the Silver Valley.
Everett was a member of the Mountain View Congregational Church of Kellogg. He loved and enjoyed his family and the outdoors- fishing, camping, four-wheeling and getting firewood.
Everett is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years Jean McCorkle of the family home of Wallace, Idaho; two children Everett “Wayne” and his wife Jill McCorkle of Prichard-Wallace, Idaho and Marilyn Hinsz and her companion Casey Stoddard of Osburn, Idaho; three grandchildren Chad Everett McCorkle of Phoenix, Arizona, Jessica Meidinger of Pine Haven, Wyoming and Kyle Hinsz of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; three great-grandchildren Kaden, Lauren and Brooklyn Meidinger; he is also survived by two brothers Bud McCorkle of Post Falls, Idaho and Tom McCorkle of Salt Lake City, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his Parents, one daughter Velva Jo McCorkle and two sisters Arnita Glencross and Nancy McCorkle.
Cremation was held and Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain View Congregational Church of Kellogg, Idaho; a reception/luncheon and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the church following services; everyone is welcome.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center, 204 Oregon Street, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.
